Former NSA Director Gen. Alexander Heads New Agency
2 Comments Published by Dr. Beyster May 24th, 2010 in Government.I was gratified to note that the Senate recently confirmed the Pentagon’s new cyber-warfare czar, General Keith Alexander, who before his confirmation was Director of the NSA, located at Ft. Meade outside of Washington D.C. The new agency — the United States Cyber Command — will also be located at Ft. Meade, although it will report into STRATCOM in Omaha, Nebraska.
I am convinced that cyber warfare will play an increasingly important role in the country’s future military activities and security. A strong hand at the top of the United States Cyber Command is just what is needed for it to succeed. Although I don’t personally know General Alexander, I suspect he is a strong leader. Hooray for America!

Right you are, and I am hoping that they are including things like the 1000 point drop in the DOW that happened a couple of weeks ago.

Hillyer: My interpretation of your response is that you think there is a ripe opportunity for cyber terrorists to monkey around with the stock market and trigger large drops or increases in the Dow. This is indeed a scary thought. I think it could be realistic, though. There is some evidence that tampering with the financial system has occurred in the past, causing changes in the Dow. I can’t pinpoint the information right now, but I’ll see if I can find it. — Bob
