Last week, the FED hosted the fifth annual Beyster summer symposium for scholars researching employee ownership and participation, and who have been selected as fellows through a competitive fellowship program, administered by Rutgers University. There are now more than 80 fellows from across the country, including 24 Beyster Fellows, who are conducting interdisciplinary research about the impacts of ownership.

These fellows’ research crosses more than 20 academic disciplines, which makes this fellowship unique in the country and world. Last year alone, they published 30 papers/articles (many together), and 15 fellows received promotions including tenure.

Our program has come a long way since our first fellows in 2009. See this year’s program on www.fed.org.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable 4th of July. I have included a recent photo of Betty and me, taken by the Beyster Institute’s own Hilde Stephan.
