Beyster Fellowship Symposium, and a Happy 4th of July

As you may know, my daughter Mary Ann runs the Foundation for Enterprise Development. This week they had their annual Beyster Fellowship Symposium here in La Jolla. This year the theme of the symposium was Open Systems: Transforming Diverse Ownership Theories to Practice, and about 60 people attended.

Many of the attendees were fellows in the various schools we work with. The enthusiasm about employee ownership among these young people was heartening for me to see. I think the FED is doing a good job, and I believe the long-term benefits of the work they’re doing will be good for our country. This makes me very happy.

The weatherman predicts that we are going to have good weather here in San Diego over the 4th of July weekend. I’m looking forward to getting out on the water for a visit to Oceanside for lunch. It’s not too much of a strain for me to get there, and we always have a good time. I have included a photo from last week’s lunch at the Jolly Roger.

I hope you have a happy and safe 4th.
