Sailing Adventures and Easter Dinner

Our motoring trip on Solutions on Good Friday was different. The weatherman had predicted showers, so we motored a short distance to the San Diego Yacht Club and took a cab to the Brigantine restaurant in Coronado, where we had lunch. It turned out that not a drop of rain fell that day — the weatherman was wrong. However, we had a good time anyway.

This week the guys will be prepping the boat for the annual competition for best boat on opening day at the Club this upcoming weekend. We won it one year with my old motorsailer Blue Moon and I ended up with a nice plaque for the wall. We will be competing this year against Dennis Conner, who has refitted a nice old wooden sailboat. We’ll see what happens.

On Easter we had dinner with a small group at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, including my family and family friends. Their son, James, is a student we helped support while he worked to get his medical doctor’s degree. His family lives here in San Diego. A good time was had by all. We did get a free Easter egg from CVS this year.
