As you will see on the Book Tour page of this blog, I am getting ready to make another trip to the East Coast. On Thursday, June 14, I will be at a reception and book signing for the Northern Virginia Technology Council; then on Friday, June 15, I’ll be at Borders Tysons Corner for a book signing. I look forward to seeing you at one of these events. Soon after, I will be on the way to Valencia, Spain, with Betty and the kids to watch the America’s Cup competition. I have been following the races leading up to the America’s Cup, and this promises to be a hard-fought contest. I am planning to post some entries to the blog while we’re in Spain, so look for updates and possibly more photos. Finally, on the way back home, I’ll stop in New York City for some other book-related events. I may need a vacation after this vacation.

Dear Dr. Beyster:
We met at the book signing at SAIC last night (June 14, 2007). Thank you so much for sharing your stories and vision with us. I look forward to reading your book.
I’d also like to thank your daughter, Mary Ann, for making the book possible and for chatting with me about growing us as the child of an “icon”. While my father did not achieve the success and impact with his own small coalmines in West Virginia that you have, it was rewarding to share stories with someone who had come to learn later in the life the importance of a father’s vision to the growth and well-being of his family and his children.
I will follow the America’s Cup races though your blogs with great anticipation. May your trip to Spain be both safe and enjoyable.
Best regards,
David Mitchell

David: Thank you for your kind remarks on the blog, and I hope you continue to read our postings. I don’t consider myself an icon, although maybe in the defense service industries I might be. I hope you enjoyed the book, and I would be interested in your comments. — Bob
